Nursing graduates honored at Central Texas College

Central Texas College hosted a pinning ceremony to recognize 21 graduates of the licensed vocational nursing program on Friday at CTC.

Held at the Anderson Campus Center, the ceremony honored graduates and award recipients.

Guest speaker for the ceremony was former CTC student nurse Leticia Wilkes, who is now a registered nurse and serves as a nursing development specialist at Baylor Scott & White.

Completing the program with highest honors for maintaining a grade point average of 3.8 or higher in their nursing classes were Jennifer Bonilla, Magan Burke, Bethany Johnson and Terri Mitchell. Graduating with honors for maintaining a grade point average (GPA) between 3.5 and 3.79 in their nursing classes were Twyla Boykin, Amy Heymann, Shawn Jenney, Samantha Miller, Ginny Saylor and Michelle Zbydniewski

The top two academic students also received gift cards from local medical outfitters. Bethany Johnson, class valedictorian, received a card from Scrubtopia Medical Outfitters. Jennifer Bonilla received a gift card from Monarch Uniforms for achieving the second highest class grade point average.

Students completing the program were Kwaku Asante, Ashton Beatty, Jennifer Bonilla, Twyla Boykin, Magan Burke, Joanne Davis, Rokia Doumbia, Tina Green, Amy Heymann, Shawn Jenney, Bethany Johnson, Marlyn Laguana, Samantha Miller, Jessica Mitchell, Terri Mitchell, Ginny Saylor, Amanda Smith, Jessica Sommerer, Joisslyn Taylor, Keesha Walker and Michelle Zbydniewski.
