Some parents and their children are upset with Killeen Independent School District after a nine-guest limit for the graduation ceremonies of Ellison and Harker Heights High School seniors was announced.

Fontella McCary received a letter from her daughter, a graduating senior at Ellison High School, two weeks ago. The letter states each graduate will be allotted nine tickets for family and friends to attend the graduation ceremony June 3 at the Bell County Expo Center. | 254-501-7553

Amazed at what goes on

Last minute? Graduation isn't until June 3. KISD really hasn't any other options if the capacity restrictions are going to be enforced. Some of these students that are protesting these "limits" are in for a rude awakening in the real world. Not everything goes your way.

Go back to holding the graduations at Leo Buckley. If it rains postpone it a day. Problem solved.

Seniors don't cut your nose off to spite your face by not attending graduation. This is one of many disappointments you will experience in your life. Yes, KISD could have given more notice, but they didn't. Yes, only allowing 9 guest per graduate for graduation is disappointing. Your family and friends can still come to town to celebrate with you after the graduation. Record the graduation and have a celebration viewing after with all your family and friends. This is a special time in your you will want to remember. Just remember...Things could always be worse! "Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans." ~ John Lennon
