Shoemaker High School senior Eric Dill receives the Kliewer Family Leadership Award, an $8,000 college scholarship Tuesday.

The Killeen ISD Education Foundation honored the top 10 seniors set to graduate from each of Killeen Independent School District’s four high schools next month and their chosen teachers who helped make them stars.

During the Starmakers Academic Recognition Banquet on Tuesday, each student and their chosen favorite teacher stepped across the Killeen Civic and Conference Center stage together to receive their rewards. Near the end of the program, Shoemaker High School senior Eric Dill smiled broadly when he was revealed as the winner of the Kliewer Family Leadership Award.

In addition to graduating in the top 10 of his class, Dill was the Shoemaker band drum major and a Texas Bioscience Institute.

The Education Foundation also recognized its top donors who contributed to the organization’s most successful campaign ever.
