Texas Comptroller Susan Combs launched the interactive Financial Allocation Study for Texas website today.

The new site, www.fastexas.org, allows Texans to compare school districts and campuses statewide on key academic and financial measures with a multitude of custom reporting features. The study uses a ranking system with five stars reflecting the strongest relative progress combined with the lowest relative spending.

Of the Killeen-area districts, Salado Independent School District was the only one to receive 5 stars for 2013, according to the study. Next highest was Belton and Lampasas districts with 3.5 stars. Killeen, Copperas Cove and Florence independent school districts all received 3 stars and Temple Independent School District received 1.5 stars.

Data is updated annually based on data from the Texas Education Agency.
