A former secretary of defense will be at Fort Hood Thursday on a book tour.

Robert Gates will sign copies of his latest book “Duty: Memoirs of a Secretary of War” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Clear Creek Main Exchange. Gates served as Pentagon chief under Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama and retired in 2011.

His new book questions Obama’s war leadership, and is highly critical of Congress and others in Washington, D.C.
