UPDATE: 12:15 p.m., The man killed in the explosion was identified as Charl Wynard Swart, 55, of McGregor. The identities of the two injured men has not been released.

CORYELL COUNTY — One man is dead, and two more are injured after a storage tank exploded on a Coryell County farm Sunday night.

Gatesville Fire Chief Billy Vaden said his department was called to a farm in the 5600 block of Mother Neff Parkway just after 6:18 p.m. Sunday. 

Vaden said it appeared that a small storage tank exploded. One man was pronounced dead at the scene, another man suffered burns on 20 to 30 percent of his body and was flown to Parkland Hospital’s burn unit in Dallas. A third man was taken to Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco.

The cause of the explosion remains unknown, and is being investigated by the Coryell County Sheriff's Department.
