A 26-year-old man died early Wednesday in a single-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 190 just outside of Nolanville.
Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke pronounced Kyle Wayne Swigert dead at the scene of the accident at 1:50 a.m. Cooke did not order an autopsy.
At 1:09 a.m., 911 dispatched an emergency crew to the area of Paddy Hamilton and U.S. 190 after reports of the accident.
When police arrived, they found Swigert lying on the south side of Central Texas Expressway.
According to the initial investigation, Swigert was traveling east in a 1999 Honda Civic on U.S. 190 when he lost control of his vehicle, a Nolanville Police Department news release stated. The vehicle rolled several times crossing the median between U.S. 190 and Central Texas Expressway and then the access road itself. Swigert was ejected.
The Nolanville Police Department is investigating the accident. The department believes Swigert was not wearing his seat belt because he was ejected from the vehicle, Police Chief Gary Kent said.
