First National Bank Texas has announced the appointment of Terry Tuggle as chairman of the board, and Hunter C. Westbrook as president and chief executive officer.
Bank officials said both appointments are effective immediately. All the offices were formerly held by James Dreibelbis.
Officials said Friday neither Tuggle nor Westbrook was available for comment. They did not report any reasons for the changes.
Tuggle will continue as president, chief executive officer and chairman of the board for Fort Hood National Bank.
"Tuggle has been an active member of the bank's executive team for 18 years and has more than 49 years of diversified banking experience," First National's announcement said.
Westbrook, 43, has 20 years of banking experience. The announcement stated he "comes to Killeen from an executive leadership role at TCF Bank, which has 453 banking offices in Minnesota, Illinois, Michigan, Colorado, Wisconsin, Indiana and Arizona." TCF has $14.7 billion in total assets, the announcement stated.
First National Bank and Fort Hood National Bank are subsidiaries of First Community Bancshares Inc., a bank holding company with more than 225 branches and 300 automated teller machines in Texas.
It has free-standing locations in Central Texas and some other cities as well as in-store branches in Kroger, Wal-Mart, H-E-B, Albertson's, Fiesta, Foodtown, Gerland's, Super 1 and Blair's.
"I am honored to continue to serve the communities in and around Fort Hood," said Tuggle, who is also incoming chairman of the Association of Military Banks. "The history of this bank is reflective of the development and growth of Central Texas. That's a source of tremendous pride."
According to Westbrook, "We are a part of the economic engine of this area. Our hallmark has been and will continue to be putting the customer first."
Tuggle also recently was appointed one of four Texas State Presidents of the Association of the United States Army. AUSA officials said he will represent the association's aims and objectives in Central and North Central Texas "and serve as a statewide conduit to local chapters."
Tuggle is past president of the association's Central Texas-Fort Hood chapter and recipient of its James I. King award, recognizing his 20 years of service to the chapter.
