Gilmore center announces events

"Casablanca," a 1942 movie classic, will be shown at 1 p.m. Friday at the Bob Gilmore Senior Center, 2205 E. Veterans Memorial Blvd. Popcorn will be available.

An AARP driver safety course is from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. A hot meal will be served during a 30-minute lunch break for $2. Make reservations for the class and meal by calling (254) 699-1717. The class is open to the public and costs $5 for educators, $12 with AARP card and $14 for non-members.

A covered-dish luncheon begins at 10:45 a.m. Aug. 15.

Grand prizes awarded to the best-dressed in each decade from 1940s to 1990s.

Guests are asked to bring a covered dish to share. Anyone who does not bring food will be charged $3.50 per person.
