HARKER HEIGHTS - Tonight's gospel show at the Harker Heights Event Center featuring Marvin Sapp will help create a Central Texas foster children's center.

The show starts at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.

"Sapp is the main attraction of the evening," said Gerald Cole, KG chief operations officer. "He is, of course, one of the top gospel artists in the nation, and he is the first gospel artist to hold No. 1s on both the gospel and R&B charts."

Sapp has released eight albums including his most recent, "Here I Am," and his first album, "Marvin Sapp."

Other scheduled performers include: Benaiah, from Christian House of Prayer; Men of Vision from Greater Vision Community Baptist Church; Rob Hall and Company from Destiny World Outreach Center, Praise Dance of the Karar International Worship Academy and the Bastrop Unified Youth Choir.

"One thing that we want to do is bring the community together ... and have a time for faith, caring and unity in the community," Cole said. "We just want to bring families together and bring people together and let them know that God is real and that healing is possible. The ministry from the music always creates an atmosphere for the atoning for the holy spirt to move over the people."

The show will raise money for a foster kids facility as part of the Kathy's Kids Project.

KG Entertainment was created in the memory of Kathy Goldman, who truly cared for children, Cole said. It was Goldman's goal to create such a facility until she died. The dream was picked up by Yolanda Miller, the president and CEO of KG Entertainment.

Proceeds from the show will go to securing a building or property for the facility, Cole said. Kathy's Kids Project is seeking property in Williamson or Travis counties.

Tickets are available at Renaissance Records in Killeen, Inspired Designs Hair Salon, Gays House of Beauty, Phase One Beauty and Barbara Salon, Linda Hair Design and Denise's Hair Salon. They can also be purchased online at www.eventbrite.com or at the door.

"It is a show that people can enjoy in the name of Christ," Cole said.
