A Temple man accused of sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl was indicted Wednesday by a Bell County grand jury.

Amador Elmo Davila, 31, is charged with aggravated sexual assault in connection with a Nov. 9 incident that occurred in the girl's home while her mother was at home, said First Assistant District Attorney Murff Bledsoe.

When the child's mother discovered what happened, she reported the incident to Temple police.

The girl was treated at Scott & White in Temple for injuries she received during the assault, according to the arrest affidavit.

Bledsoe said a sexual assault is considered aggravated when the victim is younger than 14 or a deadly weapon was used against the victim.

Davila was convicted in May 2000 of aggravated sexual assault on a child in Temple. He received six months in county jail and 10 years of unadjudicated probation.

If convicted of the most recent charge, Davila could spend the next 15 to 99 years in prison.
