HARKER HEIGHTS  — The Planning and Zoning Commission on Wednesday unanimously approved recommendation of a preliminary plat for construction of a Mormon church on Verna Lee Boulevard.

The proposed 6.95-acre plat, called the Verna Lee Church Addition, was revised to accommodate a sewer line extension. It is roughly bounded by Antelope Trail, Ramblewood Drive and Verna Lee.

The commission’s recommendation will be considered at a future meeting.

In other action, commissioners voted to table a vote on expanding the Farm-to-Market 2410 Corridor Overlay District No. 1 to include several contiguous areas. Following a public hearing on the proposed expansion, commissioners agreed to send potentially affected property owners more information on the proposal and solicit more public input.

The planning commission will reconsider the expansion April 30.
