FORT HOOD — Accused Fort Hood shooter Maj. Nidal Hasan was hospitalized for an unspecified condition.

Fort Hood officials said Hasan was admitted to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center Saturday, where he continued to be treated Monday.

Fort Hood spokesman Chris Haug said Hasan is in good condition. Privacy laws prohibited Army officials from providing any further information about his condition.

Officials expect Hasan to be released from the hospital in the next few days.

Hasan’s former attorney John Galligan described Hasan’s health as “tenuous.”

The 41-year-old Army psychiatrist was shot multiple times to end the Nov. 5, 2009, mass shooting on post.

As a result, Hasan has been paralyzed from the waist down. He has no control over his bowels and has circulation problems.

“It’s only natural that he would have issues,” Galligan said.

While he still represented Hasan, Galligan said Hasan spent much of his time in the infirmary at the Bell County Jail.
