Harker Heights police and firefighters responded to a fire at a mobile home Friday morning.

According to officials on scene, emergency crews responded to the blaze in the 1100 block of East Ball Road in Harker Heights at 11 a.m.

The call was made by local residents, who saw smoke and flames coming from the mobile home, officers said.

No one was injured in the fire, and officers at the scene said they believe the home was abandoned.

Witnesses at the scene said the home had been condemned, and that they saw crews come out Thursday to begin tearing the structure down.

As of Friday afternoon, the fire department did not know how the fire started and was investigating its cause.
