The city of Harker Heights transfer station/recycling center is accepting Christmas trees for recycling.

Residents can drop their trees off and take advantage of the mulch available for pickup. The transfer station is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

To drop off a tree or pick up mulch, bring a current water bill and a photo ID.

The Transfer Station will be closed Tuesday for New Year’s Day, but regular hours resume Thursday.

For more information, call the Public Works Department at (254) 953-5649.
