A Harker Heights teenager was charged with the death of Nolanville 17-year-old Reanna Hall Friday.

An arrest warrant on a murder charge was issued Friday for Alex Weston Rogers, 18. Rogers has been in custody at Bell County Jail on a burglary charge in connection with Hall's shooting death since Oct. 13.

Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke signed a warrant for Rogers' arrest Friday and recommended a $1 million bond be set for him.

Hall died of a gunshot wound to the chest in the early morning hours of Oct. 12 at Rogers' home. Rogers was found in possession of the handgun believed to be used in the shooting.

Police immediately began questioning Rogers, who was present at the crime scene. Police located a number of items at the scene that were determined to be stolen two days earlier from a home in Harker Heights. One of those items included the gun used in the shooting.

Rogers told police the items belonged to him.

Hall's death shocked the Harker Heights High School community, where she had been a student.

The lone murder in Harker Heights in 2010, Hall's death created an outpouring of mourning, with students rallying around Hall's family and friends by wearing purple ribbons, and confusion as to how a peer could be struck down so violently.
