The Central Texas Home Builders Association named building inspector Steve Rinehart associate of the year and Patsy Craig, owner of Southwest Homes in Copperas Cove, president for 2010.
"I've lived in Killeen since I was 8 years old, and have seen a lot of growth in the area … and I think it's going to continue," Craig said. "It's interesting to see the city grow like it has over the years, and we have good things in store for our area."
The association unveiled its new green, environmental initiative this year, which has gained popularity since it kicked off in July. Rinehart was chosen for his involvement in getting the initiative off the ground, as well as his dedication to other committees within the association.
"He's played a vital part on that committee," said executive officer Debbie Brockway. "He also is an associate member who has been very active and helped in various committees."
Trent Dalton, a partner with Killeen Freedom Homes, was chosen as vice president. Cindy Savage, with FIATx, LLC in Belton, will be treasurer.
New board members include Mark Martin, with Salado Premiere Builders, and Gene Dane, with Gene Dane & Associates in Copperas Cove.
"I want to have good communication with local city municipalities, which will help us to meet their requirements and better serve our Fort Hood neighbors in any way that we can," Craig said.
