Monster donuts, popcorn hands and ghost cupcakes were just a few of the delights awaiting children Saturday at the Kempner VFW Post 3393’s annual Halloween festival.
The VFW Ladies Auxiliary has conducted the event for more than 10 years and more than 100 youngsters attend annually. Jerri Geske, the Auxiliary president, said the event is the VFW’s way of supporting Kempner residents.
“Our festival is a safe environment for children to enjoy Halloween. Parents don’t have to worry about them,” Geske said. “The VFW is community-oriented and we care about the children here. This is our community.”
