Killeen animal control manager sacked

The Killeen Police Department has fired the city's animal control manager, Stacie Sherva.

Sherva’s termination, announced by KPD late Wednesday, stemmed from allegations that she violated department policy related to the management of personnel and the proper care of animals.

Sherva was placed on administrative leave Oct. 4, 2013, while KPD conducted an an investigation into the allegations.

After Sherva was placed on leave,  Killeen police Commander Lee Caufield was assigned to supervise Animal Control and the city’s animal shelter.
