Funds raised Saturday at the second annual Lloyd Jay Benefit at Texas Barbeque Steakhouse, 13178 State Highway 195, Killeen, will benefit two gravely ill children: 1-year-old Sophia Bobe and 5-year-old Sophia Flint.

Bobe has no immune system and needs extensive home treatment, and Flint is a leukemia patient in remission who still needs medical care. All donations will go to help offset medical costs.

The fundraiser is free and open to the public. Twelve bands perform live throughout the day. There will be a silent auction, including Harley-Davidson décor, guided fish trips, gift cards and a bounce house and games for children. There also will be a horseshoe and washer tournament, which costs $40 to enter.

The benefit was started last year in honor of Lloyd Jay Bennett, who died in a car crash in Gatesville.

Additional auction items and volunteers are needed. Call Cody Bennett at 254-449-3786 or email
