A 43-year-old Killeen man, who became the center of a battle between family members to keep him alive, died Monday night in a Round Rock hospital.

A spokesperson for Seton Medical Center Williamson in Round Rock confirmed Terry Andrew Mace Jr. died Monday, but declined to say the cause of death.

Mace had been unconscious in the hospital since March 6, when he went into cardiac arrest and hit his head in his home.

Mace’s wife, who was divorcing him, asked doctors to take him off life support March 8, according to the Austin American-Statesman.

The move sparked court proceedings between her and Mace’s parents, who wanted to keep Mace on life support.

On Sunday, Williamson County Court at Law No. 4 Judge John B. McMaster granted Mace’s father a 60-day guardianship of Mace, which his wife did not challenge.

Mamma Griz

Who will pay for the additional days that he was on life support? His parents, I hope.
