With the Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport’s recent expansion and nearly decade-old security systems, the city’s director of aviation is requesting the Killeen City Council’s authorization to seek proposals for a security system upgrade.
According to city documents, when the airport opened in 2004, the control and alarm monitoring system installed at the time was “state-of-the-art,” met the facility’s needs and federal regulations.
