Killeen train death ruled accidental by officials

The death of a Killeen woman who was hit by a train Dec. 3 was ruled accidental by medical officials.

According to the results of an autopsy performed by the Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas, 58-year-old Hermanda Dixon-Cardona’s death was accidental.

The autopsy also determined that the cause of her death was blunt force injuries.

Dixon-Cardona’s body was found about 100 feet east of 10th Street in Killeen on the south side of the railroad tracks.

Police said Dixon-Cardona attempted to cross the tracks on foot from the north to the south when she tripped and was hit by the train.

A toxicology report is still waiting to be finalized, officials said.
