Police said they nabbed the plus-size burglar who stole several bottles of liquor from Lucky-7 Liquor last week.

Police arrested Stavin Lamont Blocker, 40, Tuesday afternoon. Blocker is charged with burglary of a building and is being held on $100,000.

The burglary occurred about 2:06 a.m. April 29 at the Lucky-7 Liquor store in the 300 block of East Stan Schlueter Loop. Surveillance footage shows a man swinging an object against a glass door to the business, causing the glass to shatter.

The footage, which the owner of the business posted on the store’s Facebook page, shows the man grabbing an armload of eight large bottles of liquor and then attempting to exit the store.

He drops about half of the bottles, with at least one of them shattering.

Police learned of the burglary minutes after it occurred.

A witness told police he heard a large crash and saw a red vehicle parked in front of the business, an arrest affidavit stated.

The following day, a police officer spotted a red vehicle and a “large man” matching the witness’ description and surveillance footage outside of a convenience store.

After viewing more surveillance footage, police matched the vehicle through its distinct wheel rims.
