The Killeen Police Department is seeking applicants for its Citizen’s Police Academy.

The 12-week program gives residents an opportunity to learn about law enforcement in Killeen.

The course runs from March 3 through May 19. Classes are on Mondays in the community room at the Killeen Police Department’s headquarters, 3304 Community Blvd., from 7 to 10 p.m., with one additional class April 12.

This will be the 36th Citizens Police Academy class, according to a statement the department issued Wednesday.

Space for the academy is limited, and applicants must agree to submit to a background check, which includes a criminal history inquiry.

There is no cost to anyone who enrolls.

The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. Feb. 21.

Pick up applications at the police department.

For more information, call 254-501-8805 or email tmoseley@killeentexas.gov.
