The Killeen Police Department will host a community forum today at its headquarters, giving an opportunity for area residents to ask questions and address the local law enforcement face to face.

The regular event features many of the leaders of Killeen’s police force along with other members of city administration. Also taking questions will be leaders of several community organizations.

The department will give presentations on various topics, said KPD spokeswoman Carroll Smith.

Department officials plan to talk about crime-rate statistics, increased enforcement of loud music ordinances, traffic laws in construction zones, red-light cameras and the department’s See Something Say Something program.

Residents are encouraged to give input to the department, whether positive or negative, Smith said.

“We want to serve the community better, so we encourage everyone to come out,” she said. “This is the chance to let us know how.”

The forum is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at KPD’s headquarters, 3304 Community Blvd. in south Killeen. Attendees will be provided snacks and refreshments.
