“Did you comprehend the word RENT” Johnny said “HOMEOWNERS” do you comprehend what he wrote? There is a lot of homeowners that cannot come up to standard by new policies wrote by some rich government big-shots!

Johnny:: You asked "what about homeowners who don't have the means to bring their house up to standard". Did you comprehend the word RENT? Evidently the woman pays rent to live in the pigsty-- she is NOT the homeowner. You don't find many landlords that force their tenants to do repairs on the home they are renting.

I know a gal who used to live on Lynn, and she could tell you that the stories are true. It is the slumlord-- Mr. Buttross in this case-- who is the good-for-nothing person. I used to own rentals, and I NEVER asked my tenants to do the repairs. I made sure that my tenants had decent respectable homes to live in. Of course, my rental agent was-- and is-- a whole lot above this slumlord.

Why in h*** should the city help these people connect with available funds to help them finance their efforts? The tenants ARE NOT responsible for the upkeep of the property they are renting. I guess you don't understand what is meant by renting. The renter lives in a home that is owned BY SOMEONE ELSE. Why should they be forced to do the major upkeep on property they DO NOT own. Get off your high horse and learn something about RENTING. Would you do major repairs and upkeep on a home you don't own?

I have been on both sides of this process-- we used to rent and then we were tenants later on down the pike. You can bet I never was expected to do the upkeep on a property I rented-- and I never expected my tenants to do it when I became a landlord.

What a pathetic and truly mind boggling article about this topic.

Did the KD Herald's reporter just mindlessly write down verbatim what the officials said.

If she had thought about the topic, she could have asked, what about homeowners who don't have the means to bring their house up to standard.

Are the communities doing anything to help these people connect with available funds to help them finance their efforts, or are they just threatening to make them homeless?

Not all owners of dilapidated housing are out of area slumlords.

The utter lack of questions turns this into one of the most soulless pieces of journalistic crud I've seen in a long time.

Clearly she's biding her time until she finds another position, but if she uses this work as an example of her abilities, she should prepare herself for a long stay.

    Real reporters aren't stenographers.

"Buttross has called the city prejudiced against minorities and people with low incomes". How does that guy think HIS inaction is called. HE is the one prejudiced against minorities and people with low incomes. He is forcing them to live in pigstys. Heck, my pigs had better housing than he is forcing those people to have to live in. Bet he doesn't live in the same type of home they are forced to live in. C'mn Mr. Buttross-- act like a HUMAN for once in your miserable life and do something to help those people. But then, the city isn't helping the matter. The city is letting that ackjass run the city. Bet if anyone else tried what that ackjass is doing he city would be on their case in half a minute. This only proves that Mr. Buttross thinks he is second only to God-- and he doesn't even qualify to be called a human, let alone "Sir".
