Four state legislators from the Killeen/Fort Hood area received perfect scores on a legislative scorecard from anti-abortion and natural death nonprofit Texas Alliance for Life, according to a news release.

Texas District 54 Rep. Scott Cosper, R-Killeen; Texas District 55 Rep. Hugh Shine, R-Temple; Texas District 59 Rep. J.D. Sheffield, R-Gatesville; and Texas District 24 Sen. Dawn Buckingham, R-Lakeway, all received 100-percent voting records on anti-abortion and natural death legislation during the 85th Legislature and special session in 2017.

“Texas is leading the nation in the number of laws passed that protect the lives of mothers and their unborn children as well as vulnerable patients at the end of life,” said Dr. Joe Pojman, executive director of the alliance. “This scorecard will serve as a great guide for Texans to learn precisely who the pro-life stewards are within the Texas Legislature.”

It's all fine and good, but why the uproar about abortions. After all, how does a female get pregnant? She doesn't impregnate herself. There has to be a man involved at the very first of the process. Why punish the woman and make her bear a rapist's child. Will the man ever learn to keep his pants zipped up and on, unless it is a call from Mother Nature. Oh no, he is overlooked in many cases. I wonder how many back-ally wire hanger abortions will happen.
