New car sales in Bell and Coryell counties are following the trend started in January, with car sales in Bell County up and sales in Coryell County down from this time last year, according to the Freeman Auto Report from February.
In February, 2,713 vehicles were sold in Bell County, according to the report, compared to 2,475 vehicles sold in February 2017. This amounts to a 9.62 percent increase.
Coryell numbers continue to be lower than 2017 numbers, with dealerships selling 138 vehicles in February. Compared to 151 vehicles sold in February 2017, this comes out to a 11.26 percent decrease.
The most popular vehicle in Bell County in February, based on new vehicle registrations, were Fords with 157 units sold between cars and trucks.
Other top sellers were Toyota vehicles, with a total of 144 units sold, and Chevrolets, with a total of 134 units sold.
The most popular vehicles sold in Coryell County were Chevrolets with 29 units sold. Other top sellers were Buicks, with 10 units sold, and Ram trucks, which also sold 10 units.
