Belton Fire

Emergency crews work the scene of a structure fire off west Highway 190/Interstate 14 early Tuesday morning.

Members of the Belton Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 2200 block of west Highway 190/Intersate 14 about 4 a.m. Tuesday morning. Upon their arrival, the residence was fully engulfed. After extinguishing the fire, a deceased person was located in the bathroom of the residence, according to the Belton Police Department.

As crews work the scene, the side road will be closed at 190/Kegley. Motorist should be prepared for delays and consider alternate routes, according to the Belton Police Department.

The Belton Fire Department was assisted by Central Bell County Fire and Rescue. This incident is currently under investigation by the Belton Fire and Police Departments, and the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

More information about the fire will be released as it is available.
