2016 ELECTION

Republican Dawn Buckingham defeated Democrat Virginia “Jennie Lou” Leeder in a landslide Tuesday to take the Texas Senate District 24 battle to replace longtime state Sen. Troy Fraser, who announced last summer that he’d give up his seat at the end of his term.

Buckingham earned 188,523 votes, good enough for 73 percent of the vote.
