Motorists in the Killeen area can enjoy gas prices right in between the state average and the state’s lowest price.
The lowest gas prices in the city are all under $2 as of noon on Saturday. That’s 8 cents below the Texas average of $2.08 per gallon.
Wal-Mart is the home of the cheapest gallon of gas in Killeen. The locations at 3404 W. Stan Schlueter Loop and 2900 Clear Creek Road each have gas for $1.96 a gallon. The 7-Eleven at 3600 S. Clear Creek Road has gas for $1.98 a gallon, and Corner Store’s locations at 1801 S. W.S. Young Drive and 3900 Trimmier Road have gas for $1.99.
The Harker Heights Sam’s Club at 600 W. Central Texas Expressway has the cheapest gas in the area, at $1.88 a gallon. Murphy USA at 2010 Heights Drive has gas for $1.91 a gallon, and so does the H-E-B at 601 Indian Trail Drive. Wal-Mart at 960 E. Farm-to-Market Road 2410 sells a gallon for $1.93. and the Corner Store at 601 East Central Texas Expressway has it for $1.96 a gallon.
Three gas stations in Copperas Cove have gas for $1.97 a gallon; the Corner Store at 1102 S. Farm-to-Market Road 116, the Exxon at 2411 E. U.S. Highway 190 and the 7-Eleven at 2124 E. U.S. Highway 190. That’s not the cheapest price in the city though. Murphy USA at 2712 E. U.S. Highway 190 near Gibson Street has gas for $1.95 per gallon.
