KEMPNER — The Kempner City Council appointed Kenneth J. Mahoney as the city’s municipal court judge with a 5-0 vote Tuesday night. 

Mahoney will assume his duties effective Oct. 1.

Can't help but wonder if they had to raise taxes to be able to pay the new municipal judge. Judge Isenhour used to work for free as a volunteer.

Guess you better start slowing down to the speed limit when you go through Kempner again. They're working on renaming the town "Nolanville-West".
