A Killeen teenager died while trying to change a flat tire Tuesday in Oklahoma, according to police and media reports.

A car driven by Rasika J. Walton, 37, of Killeen, who lived through the accident, had a flat tire and was parked on the left shoulder of the northbound Interstate 35 lanes, partially blocking the left lane, according to a report in The Oklahoman.

The teenager and another man helping to change the tire were killed when they were struck by a passing SUV, the newspaper reported.

The accident occurred in Murray County. The man who died helping was Shane M. Miller, 47, of Hutchinson, Kansas, at about 3:40 p.m. Tuesday about four miles south of Davis. The teenager’s name was not released. Both died at the scene.

The SUV was heading north and driven by Judy L. Blain, 52, of Weatherford, officials said.
