The annual Krist Kindl Markt and Christmas Bazaar begins at 5:30 p.m. today in downtown Copperas Cove.

Aside from up to 100 arts and crafts, food and holiday shopping vendors at the bazaar, there are events planned throughout the weekend as part of the festivities.

The Krist Kindl Markt, near Avenue E and Main Street, is open from 4 to 10 p.m. today; from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday; and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

There will be free cookie decorating for children, a Christmas tree lighting, and the option to bring letters addressed to Santa.

Santa will be available for free visits and photos from 7 to 9 p.m. today, from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, and from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday.

Santa will also make an additional appearance for a free children’s story time at 5 and 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Saturday’s Krist Kindl Parade will begin at 3 p.m. in downtown, and the holiday light show will follow at 5:30 p.m.

The annual Krist Kindl Pageant will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Copperas Cove Civic Center with more than 50 contestants of various ages vying for a crown.

Winners will be featured Saturday on the Domino’s float during the Copperas Cove parade.
