The Lampasas Independent School District board set its general election for May 6 at its regular meeting Monday night. Two people have filed for the two seats up for grabs this year.

Place 6, held by Sam Walker, and Place 7, held by Ryan Shahan, are up for election this year, and both have filed.

So far, both are running unopposed.

Walker said he has been on the school board for four years.

“I was actually appointed to a vacant position four years ago for a one-year term, and in May, I will be finishing up my first three-year term,” he said.

Shahan was unavailable for comment.

The deadline for candidates to file in the LISD election is Feb. 17.
