HARKER HEIGHTS — Between 100 and 200 people gathered at Harker Heights City Hall on Monday for the fourth annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony put on by the Harker Heights Parks and Recreation Department.

The HMMM Quartet consisting of Sean Clark, Gary Morton, Gary Holmes and Bob Massey opened the ceremony with several Christmas songs before Jeff Achee, the director of the parks and recreation department, spoke to the crowd and introduced Spencer Smith, the mayor of Harker Heights who was the one to flip the switch and light the tree to rounds of applause and cheer from the crowd of residents.
