A motorcyclist was injured about 12:15 p.m. Thursday when he was hit by a car near Rancier Avenue and 18th Street in Killeen.

Killeen police are investigating the accident.

Police were dispatched to the scene at 12:17 p.m., according to an email from Ofelia Miramontez, Killeen Police Department spokeswoman.

Officers “were told that the operator of the motorcycle was traveling westbound in the inside lane of Rancier Avenue when a dark blue Chevy Cruze, exited a private drive and crossed in front of the path of the motorcycle,” according to the email.

The motorcyclist was taken to Scott & White Medical Center-Temple in stable condition.
