After two days of beautiful weather, Killeen area residents can expect stormy skies in the next couple of days, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

Rain chances are expected to be 60 percent today after a 20 percent chance Monday evening. Fortunately, with the scattered showers will come lower temperatures.

The high for today is expected to be 84 degrees with a low expected to be 74 degrees.

“The rain and lower temperatures will likely come from the south as Gulf moisture enters the area,” said NWS meteorologist Juan Hernandez.

On Wednesday, rain chances will tail off with a 40 percent chance of showers dwindling overnight and clear skies expected from Thursday to the weekend, Hernandez said.

The high for Wednesday is expected to be 84 degrees with a low of 72 degrees.

Wind gusts between 5 and 15 mph are expected through today and Wednesday. | 254-501-7567
