HARKER HEIGHTS — Richard Rawlings was on hand for a grand opening event for his new restaurant — Richard Rawlings’ Garage — on Thursday night.

The restaurant is the latest business venture of Rawlings, owner of Gas Monkey Garage and star of the Discovery Channel’s “Fast N’ Loud.”

Rawlings, who first entered the restaurant business with the Gas Monkey Bar and Grill in Fort Worth in 2013, said he is expanding his Dallas-Fort Worth-based Gas Monkey empire to Harker Heights in order to appeal to the community close to Fort Hood and the military.

Read more about the new restaurant in Saturday’s Killeen Daily Herald.

We had our first experience eating here and it is OK and might be a draw to the area but will we be going back? No the prices are too high for the menu that is being offered. Nothing really sticks out there and it took a while to place the order because the menu was very limited. We were really disappointed such great hype maybe others will enjoy it but we spent 50.00 plus the tip and guess what not a real steak in the house.
