The Killeen National Guard Armory on W.S. Young Drive was rented out by Just As Nice Consignment this weekend for a special sale that lasted all weekend long.

Many Killeen residents signed up as consignors for the event, while others donated items to be given to Killeen Families in Crisis.

“This is the third event we’ve done so far, and it’s gone really well,” said Brandie Bass, owner and organizer of Just As Nice Consignment. “Saturday was our biggest day, and we’ve seen several hundred people come through those doors so far this weekend.”

Brandie Bass said she began doing sales like this with her husband, Archie Bass, because she loves to organize and do sales on her own.

She said she has enjoyed running sales ever since her children were young, because “whenever they would get too big for their clothes, we’d have another yard sale.”

“The turnout has been really good at all the events so far, so we would like to do a sale like this every six months or so,” Archie Bass said.

“On Friday we had our presale that was geared more toward military families and parents, on Saturday we had hourly giveaways, and today things were heavily discounted, with most items being 50 percent off, so we’ve seen a lot of interest each day.”

Many Killeen residents were excited about the sale, and said they enjoyed browsing the items available and finding good deals.

“I just moved here from Illinois, and I’ve been yardsaling all this weekend since I just got here,” Jessica West said. “I really liked the sale and was glad I found it. I got a lot of good deals here.”

Just As Nice Consignment does the organizing for people who wish to participate in the sale.

Many people donated lightly used clothing and house decorations, while other vendors supplied hand-made items including bracelets and bows.

“We are selling a lot of clothes this weekend, but we also had toys, books, video games, and even some chairs and a piece of exercise equipment,” Brandie said. “Also, more than 400 pieces of clothing were donated to us to go to Families in Crisis, and we always try to donate to organizations that need help when we do events like this.”
