Residents in a Killeen neighborhood lost power Friday morning after a stolen vehicle struck a transformer box, then a home.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:15 a.m. on a curve in the 5400 block of Bridgewood Drive, according to Ofelia Miramontez, Killeen police spokeswoman. Police responding to the scene found a black BMW had hit the transformer box, then ran over a tree before hitting the front pillar of the vacant house.
The BMW was unoccupied when police arrived, Miramontez said.
The owner of the 2008 BMW called police to report the car stolen from a location on Rancier Avenue 10 minutes after the crash took place, according to media reports.
Police continue to investigate the incident, Miramontez said, adding the house is vacant.
