Today is the final day to register to vote in the Nov. 7 election.
Area residents can register to vote in person at the Bell County Annex in Belton at 550 E. Second Ave.; the annex in Temple at 205 E. Central Ave; and the annex in Killeen at 307 Priest Drive.
You can also register to vote online by visiting VoteTexas.gov.
To be sure if you’re registered to vote, go to VoteTexas.gov and click the “Am I Registered?” tab or call the Bell County elections office at 254-933-5774.
Early voting for the November election begins Oct. 23 and ends Nov. 3.
The last day to apply for a ballot by mail is Oct. 27.
Voters across the Lone Star State will decide the fate of seven state constitutional amendments.
Local races include:
- In Nolanville, voters will pick three new City Council members and whether the city can allocate ¼ of 1 percent of the local sales tax to provide for street maintenance.
- Gatesville Independent School District voters will chose three new school board members out of 14 candidates.
- Copperas Cove ISD voters will tap three new school board members.
In April, Bell County had more than 178,000 registered voters — down from the record 184,757 people who were registered to vote for the November 2016 election.
More recent numbers were not available Monday because Bell County offices were closed for Columbus Day.
