The Texas Department of Transportation will begin on Monday a maintenance and repair project at the State Highway 9 overpass and connector, just north of the Business 190/U.S. Highway 190 split in Copperas Cove on Monday.

The work will consist of removing and replacing unsuitable material as well as addressing the embankment issue at each end of the bridge, according to TxDOT. The project is being undertaken by TTG Utilities, LP, of Gatesville at a cost of just over $650,000. It is currently projected for completion by mid-summer of this year, weather permitting.

Motorists can expect to encounter flaggers and temporary delays within the work area, Monday thru Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., for the duration of the project. The current single-lane restriction will remain in effect until completion of the project.

TxDOT cautions motorists to be alert for construction personnel and equipment in the work areas.

I agree. Even that "modification" done along Ave D recently was a boondoggle. TxDot inspected it and said it is not up to required code. Why didn't they check it as the work was being done?
