The Killeen Independent School District will host a Veterans and Spouses Career Fair on Nov. 15 from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

“The purpose of the fair is to show veterans and their spouses the job opportunities provided by Killeen ISD,” according to a district statement.

The district has been collaborating with 12 large school districts throughout the nation to help find effective teachers and support staff, the statement said.

Job candidates with college degrees will be shown how they can enter the classroom as fully contracted teachers within a few short months.

Those without college degrees will be shown the support positions available.

Killeen ISD is accepting applications for bus drivers, school nutrition workers, instructional aides, teachers, and more, the district statement said.

KISD’s statement said there will be representatives from local universities and alternative certification programs.

KISD departments represented include professional and auxiliary human resources, transportation, facilities, school nutrition, special education, substitute and employee benefits.

Attendees do not need to preregister or pay any fee to attend the event.

KISD said all attendees who want to be considered for open positions should bring multiple copies of their resumes when they attend the job fair.
