I-35 crash

A truck on I-35 in Temple Monday morning crashed, causing southbound lanes of the interstate to shut down.

TEMPLE — A wreck involving an 18-wheeler has closed southbound Interstate 35 near mile marker 302 in Temple.

The 18-wheeler, which was carrying wood cabinets, caught fire following the wreck. The blaze has been extinguished.

The driver was transported by EMS; his condition is not yet known.

An environmental contractor has been called to the scene to clean diesel and other fluids that leaked from the truck following the wreck.

Temple Fire & Rescue and Temple Police officers are working to clear the scene.

TxDOT advises motorists to use alternative routes.
