A 36-year-old woman was taken to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Temple with nonlife-threatening injuries after losing control of her car Wednesday at the intersection of Stan Schlueter Loop and U.S. Highway 190 in Killeen.
“The woman was headed eastbound on the expressway at a high rate of speed, and when she attempted to take the turnaround, she lost control of her vehicle, hitting the curb and spinning out,” police spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez said. “She then got out of her car, possibly in shock from what had just happened, and got into the middle of oncoming traffic before she collapsed to the ground.”
Miramontez said at 10:21 a.m., the police began receiving reports that a pedestrian had been hit, but that was not the case.
Officers responded, and the woman was taken to the hospital.
According to Miramontez, no other vehicles were involved in the accident, and there were no other injuries.
