COPPERAS COVE — A man remained in Coryell County Jail on Thursday after he was arrested for allegedly choking a woman who dared him to do it.

Justice of the Peace John Guinn arraigned Kenneth Rashad Scott on Tuesday on a charge of assault by impeding breath or circulation. Guinn set his bond at $10,000.

Police responded to the 500 block of Sunset Lane, where they met with a female victim about 6:33 p.m. Monday, stated the arrest complaint.

The victim told officers that she and Scott were supposedly in a verbal argument when he told her to "shut the ... up" or he would strangle her, stated the complaint. The victim then responded to Scott with "I dare you."

The argument turned physical and Scott placed his right hand around her neck and began to choke her, the complaint stated. During the altercation, he reportedly asked her if she could breathe and he said ,"Yeah, that's what I thought. Dare me again."

The victim told police that she didn't pass out from the incident but she couldn't breathe. Scott reportedly told police he did put his hand around her neck but only pushed her, stated the complaint.

Guinn also arraigned the following:

Christina Renee Blanchette, on Saturday, on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Guinn set her bond at $5,000.

Jason Wayne King, on Tuesday, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, less than 1 gram. Guinn set his bond at $15,000.

Michael Leanthony Cheeks, on Tuesday, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, more than 1 gram but less than 4 grams. Guinn set his bond at $10,000.

Tameca Denise Davis, on Saturday, on a charge of theft less than $1,500 with two previous convictions. Guinn set her bond at $10,000.
