A 27-year-old Killeen man who left a marijuana plant on his front porch is facing felony drug charges.

Christopher William Mann was charged with possession of methamphetamine, less than 1 gram. Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin arraigned Mann on Wednesday, setting his bail at $25,000.

On Monday, a Killeen police officer was patrolling on North 10th Street when he spotted a marijuana plant growing in a coffee can left on the front porch of a home, an arrest affidavit states.

The officer approached the home and met with Mann, who told police the plant and several others in the home were his, the affadavit states.

Mann gave police consent to search his home. Inside they found 0.3 grams of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia hidden in a first-aid kit.

Also arraigned was S.B. Rogers, 47, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, less than 1 gram.
