Immigration overload California

Protesters turn back three buses carrying 140 immigrants as they attempt to enter the Murrieta U.S. Border Patrol station for processing on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, in Murrieta, Calif.

SAN DIEGO — Homeland Security buses carrying migrant children and families were rerouted Tuesday to a facility in San Diego after American flag-waving protesters blocked the group from reaching a suburban processing center.

The standoff in Murrieta came after Mayor Alan Long urged residents to complain to elected officials about the plan to transfer the Central American migrants to California to ease overcrowding of facilities along the Texas-Mexico border.

Many of the immigrants were detained while fleeing violence and extortion from gangs in Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.

After the buses were blocked, federal authorities rerouted the vehicles to a freeway and then to a customs and border facility in San Diego within view of the Mexico border.

The three buses were trailed by a half-dozen news crews during the two-hour trip.

People near the San Diego facility were surprised by the caravan.

Juan Silva, 27, a welder in Chula Vista, said he thought officials were transporting drug traffickers. Then he heard the buses were carrying migrant families.

“I don’t think people in that town should be against little kids,” he said about the protesters in Murrieta. “We’re not talking about rapists, we’re talking about human beings. How would they feel if it was their kids?”

After the migrants are processed, Immigration and Customs Enforcement will decide who can be released while awaiting deportation proceedings.

Earlier in the day, a chartered plane landed in San Diego with 136 migrants on board, according to a Department of Homeland Security official who was not authorized to be named when speaking on the issue.

It was the first flight planned for California under the federal government’s effort to ease the crunch in the Rio Grande Valley and deal with the flood of Central American children and families fleeing to the United States.

The government also is planning to fly migrants to Texas cities and another site in California, and already has taken some migrants to Arizona.

The same people who say we should take care of our own are the same people who complain about welfare initiatives. Too many people don't want to help anyone other than themselves or someone they can empathize with, within, of course, the confines of their myopia. It doesn't matter if it's children from El Salvador or someone who was born here and, for whatever reason, isn't able to support themselves.
Newsflash: NONE of us have some sort of divine right to be here. You won the birth lottery and were fortunate to be born here. Just about every group that's come to this country has been unwelcome. People didn't come here for the heck of it - they came here because they were desperate - life was bad in their home countries and they wanted better for themselves and their children, just like these folks are trying to do. They aren't all criminals and they aren't all going to sit around and milk the system - given a chance, most will work hard and be good citizens.
I agree that our resources are finite and there's too many people in this country already. I don't know of a solution, but I do know that, in the grand scheme of things, we're all human beings and, in the end, there won't be any distinction between you or someone who was born in Guatemala - whether you believe in an afterlife or expect nothingness, your citizenship won't mean squat when you're in front of God or feeding the worms. People deserve a chance to strive for the best life possible, regardless of where they were born.

These people are Illegal Aliens as Texian1313 states---
Doesn't matter if it is the children or the adult male an females they are traveling with.
I owe them nothing.
Too many years of hand outs have been given to try to help the country of Mexico and any country further south of that. They continue to have the same problems as they have always had.

Its getting bore-some having to continually be expected to support or find jobs for any people from a foreign country who many, Have shown their ungratefulness for that help.

Let them do whatever it takes to have a government who doesn't still believe in the class system of those who have and those who have not---With the have not's never being able to progress.
I or any American citizen do not owe them anything not even the children nor any of the adults who have come in with them
I feel comfortable with my God in having these thoughts.---He knows what the U'S has already done for the world-If others can't understand this, That's their problem.

These people are ALIEN INVADERS! They, when caught, should be sent to the nearest border crossing and expelled! Our country is in shambles and we can't take care of our own, WHY should we be forced to take care of these? Why is Mexico, with it's tough immigration laws, letting these people through??
Come on Congress, Impeach our great appologizer and chief so we can regain our place as the GREATEST Country on earth!

And there will be more of these protests all over the place.
We need to take care of our own before we take on the rest of the world.
Our Vets get second rate Health Care but these Illegal Immigrants get the
grand treatment - no wonder people are protesting

We The People--
are being expected ,without our permission, to support thousands of illegal strangers who have come into the U.S. against the Laws of our Land.

We are being fed the lie, Mostly by the Democratic politicians that these individuals are 'Kids' which is an out and out lie.
Since The British Newspaper UK on their web site shows very well that we are also housing, young adults/Male and Female.
Many of our 'leaders' have made trips to the border of Texas, Nancy Pelosi being one,
To put up an argument for these strangers who have stole into the country,
We also are expected to pay the cost of her trip into Texas (when she doesn't give a care about Texas or the citizens of the state, who know, they are being allowed to be over run by people carrying diseases, possible criminal records. etc.

Castro did the same in the 70-80's as is happening now, Placed his mental, opened up his prisons, added in some of his agents etc. when he also 'Allowed' Cubans off of the island.
Another politician allowed this to happen also - Jimmy Carter.
Some of the troops who had to be involved in the chaos were from Ft Hood.

The people of the U.S. should not worry about all of the Politically Correctness they are ask to be involved in just to show ,We are the good guys.
We have been the good guys too long, We have given the world everything we have, Even our military's blood and their lives.

And we are still being allowed to be slapped in the face by third world countries when they want to pull a fast one such as Load Up Our Economy with a group of thousands who We have absolutely no responsibly for. How these foreign leaders along with some of our own must be laughing .
Thinking all Americans are so gullible they believe all of the fodder they are they are being fed.

The situation happening on our southern borders is a military situation. The country is being allowed to be overrun.
But Whose wanting to run it from Washington? Among the group, Some old lady representative from California,
Some guy from Illinois who has spent his life working, to get as much for the Latino and Hispanic illegal population who are in the country.
And expecting the American Tax Payer to pay for it all - Even their salary's, while these representatives are doing it. And any Liberal who is being allowed to make any decisions for the country.

Proud Mother of an Army Avi8er

Eliza, I couldn't have said it any better.

As a mother, my heart goes out to all these children.

However, we have to be honest and real. The USA cannot AFFORD and should not be responsible for every country.

When the USA isn't borrowing money, we have no poor, hungry and homeless. When every AMERICAN Veteran that has given their best, is treated with the best care, then we can help other countries.
Charity starts at home...USA!

This could have all been prevented if it was stopped from day one.
